Parables in Holy Quran which is a guidance for the righteous

A friend says that “Deen (religion) is simple. There is no need for explanations. Isa bin Maryam is mentioned in the Hadith so this must be Isa bin Maryam.” Although he completely ignored the verses of the Holy Quran that declare Jesus son of Mary lived and died like all other human beings and prophets. He also forgot to answer how he can apply the name Ahmad to Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) when his name is not Ahmad. He briefly mentioned that since there is no other prophet named Ahmad so this must be applied to Muhammad (pbuh) (although we cannot be sure about this since there were over 124,000 prophets and no one has the list of their names). In any case that argument is based on “explanation” and your own criteria fails here, so please no double standards. For us, it is no problem because our beliefs are soundly rooted on Holy Quran with rationality.

Now the next topic is “religion is simple, there is no need for explanations and Isa’s name cannot be applied to anyone else”. Holy Quran says:

“This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous” (2:2/3)

Why it is guidance for the righteous only if deen is so simple? It should be guidance for everyone. In another verse Allah says about Holy Quran:

“Which none shall touch except those who are purified.” (56:79/80)

Can you answer how non-believers and impure people can’t touch this book in the presence of this verse if you take everything literally? You have to take its meaning not literally.

And how can you hold such view in presence of this verse of the Holy Quran when Allah (swt) has said Himself that some verses need interpretations?

He it is who has sent down to thee the Book; in it there are verses that are firm and decisive in meaning – they are the basis of the Book – and there are others that are susceptible of different interpretations.…(3:7/8)

More about this subject:

He sends down water from the sky so that the valleys flow according to their measure and the flood bears on its surface swelling foam. And from that which they heat in the fire, seeking to make ornaments or utensils, comes out a foam similar to it. Thus does Allah illustrate truth and falsehood. Now, as to the foam it goes away as rubbish and perishes but as to that which benefits men, it stays in the earth. Thus does Allah set forth parables. (13:17/18)

and

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. His light is as if there were a lustrous niche, wherein is a lamp. The lamp is inside a glass-globe. The globe is, as it were, a glittering star. The lamp is lit from the oil of a blessed tree -an olive – neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil well-nigh would shine forth even though fire touched it not. Light upon light! Allah guides to His light whomsoever He pleases. And Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah knows all things full well. (24:35/36)

Can you show this lamp? Here is another one:

“And, indeed, We have set forth for mankind all manner of parables in this Qur’an that they may take heed.” (39:27/28)

Alas! So your argument is against the teachings of the Holy Quran.

As regards to the argument that this has not happened before, I already talked about Elijah the prophet. Where is Elijah? Jews are waiting for him to descend from the sky also. Why Jesus said that John the Baptist is Elijah and failed to present the actual Elijah the prophet with exact name as you argue?

The friend also asked me to visit anti-Ahmadiyya website. I think this was a joke because Islam is based on Holy Quran and Hadith, not on any Anti website. How can the opponents of the Imam Mahdi/Promised Messiah guide someone to truth?

Please note that I get guidance from Holy Quran and Holy Prophet (saw) and not from anti-ahmadiyya mullahs. In any case, the anti-Ahmadiyya false propaganda has been answered since ages. Please go through this website impartially.

Keep in mind that Issa bin Maryam died like all other human beings and prophets (16 verses of the Holy Quran have been quoted). There is not a single sahih Hadith where Holy Prophet (saw) said that Issa bin Maryam will be same old Issa that went up to the skies. Not a single sahih Hadith! In fact in Ahadith two entirely different physical descriptions have been provided for old Isa bin Maryam and the one that was to come in the Ummah. Why different physical complexions? Of course because they are two different persons.

In the light of above all it becomes crystal clear that Issa bin Maryam mentioned in the Ahadith is not the same old who was born fatherless. And if you do not agree, then in the words of the Holy Quran: Bring forward your proof if you are truthful (27:64/65).
