A Persistent Liar – Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat

MAULVI MANZOOR CHINIOTI
A Persistent LIAR

20 Questions for him to answer (or his son or the leaders of Khatme Nabuwwat)

INTRODUCTION

Maulvi Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti was a resident of Chiniot City, situated a few miles from Rabwah, the headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan. He [at the time of writing years ago] was a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly and a leading figure within the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Organisation – an anti Ahmadiyya group.

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti was vehemently vocal and vociferous in his attitude towards the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and often issued false and inciting statements about the Ahmadis to gain cheap popularity amongst the ignorant masses. However because of his nefarious activities he was shunned by the public at large. Even those who were close to him exposed his lies and evil designs from time to time and warne the public of his anti Islamic activities. They regarded him as a corrupt mullah who would sell his faith for anything.

On Friday, the 10th June 1988 The Head of the World wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community issued an open invitation to Mubahala challenge to all the leaders who were playing a prominent role in the rejection of the claims of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and insist that he was an impostor. It was addressed to those leaders who were inciting hostility against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with totally false and fabricated allegations.

Many maulvis including Manzoonor Chinioti announced that they were willing to take up the challenge provided the Ahmadiyya leader agreed to meet them at places designated by them. All sorts of places throughout the world were mentioned in their statements for Mubahala meetings.

It was explained to them that the term `Mubahala’ means taking the dispute to the court of Allah by invoking the curse of God on the party which, in the sight of Good, wilfully distorts the truth and indulges in falsehood and lies. It is up to opponents to accept the challenge honestly or refuse to accept it. If those who accept the challenge are in the wrong, the wrath of God falls on them as a clear sign of their lies, so that the people can easily distinguish between truth and falsehood. They were told that there was nothing in the Holy Quran which suggests that parties should meet at a particular place but they were adamant that parties must meet at one place.

The Holy Quran says:

We take up the case of maulvi Manzoor Chinioti. He tried to evade the Mubahala challenge by stipulating that the Supreme Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community should come to a place near Rabwah on the River Chanab for the Spiritual Contest. Later on, when he visited England he suggested Hyde Park as a meeting place. Whether Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti is a victor of Mubahala as he claims for himself and has earned the favours of Allah or has become the victim of Mubahala and has been the recipient of Allah’s wrath and curse because of his persistent lies is left to the reader to decide.

He said that Maulvi Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti has used such a filthy language against Hadhrat Ali and Hadhrat Imam Hussain in a meeting held at Garh Maharaja, District Jhang, that even Yazeed could not have used such a foul language for them. He is a terrorist and a hypocrite like Abdullah bin Ubayyee and has no link with Islam. MAULVI MANZOOR CHINIOTI AND THE MUBAHALA CHALLENGE

Messengers and reformers appointed by God guide mankind to the path of peace and obedience to Allah. They spread their message through kind words and gentle persuasion. History shows us that these men from God are always opposed and maligned with false accusations. When such charges exceed the limits of all toleration, and the lies and the deceits of the opponents prevent people from accepting the truth, a religious remedy is provided by Allah in the Holy Quran which is called `Mubahala’. This is to bring about a clear and manifest distinction between truth and falsehood. Mubahala is that stage when a Prophet of God is out-rightly rejected, when no further room is left for meaningful dialogue and arguments, then both parties (those who reject him and those who believe in him) invoke the curse of Allah on the wilful liars.

When the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi appeared in the world, according to the prophecies to rejuvenate Islam, many of the religious leaders of his time opposed him and launched a filthy campaign of wilful lies against him to misguide the people. The Promised Messiah reasoned with his opponents but when reasoning yielded no results, he had no choice but to invite them to Mubahala and to take this long drawn dispute to the Court of Allah, the Almighty, the All knowing, All Powerful. In the same tradition, the Fourth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad issued a challenge of Mubahala on 10th June 1988, to `all leaders who play a prominent role in the rejection of the claims of the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and who insist that he was an impostor.’

He said:

“in my capacity as the imam of the Jamaat Ahmadiyya , I do hereby invite all such persons who, having read the statements in the Mubahala pamphlet , still persist in their antagonistic attitude and do not refrain from spreading lies against Jamaat Ahmadiyya, to accept the challenge of this Mubahala. ”

One such leader who responded to the challenge is a shameless, obstinate and foul mouthed maulvi known as Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti who is in the habit of issuing Mubahala challenges to the Ahmadiyya leader from time to time in order to gain cheap popularity, but the world had witnessed that each time he was met with torrents of humiliation and ignominy.

Let us list some of the events here and ask Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti whether he can be given any other name apart from a persistent liar i.e. `kazzaab’.

in the Daily Imroze dated 21st June 1988, (exactly eleven days after the issuance of Mubahala Challenge by Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, the Head of the World wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community), the following statement was published:

“The Former member of the Punjab Assembly Maulana Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti, after accepting the Mubahala Challenge issued by Mirza Tahir Ahmad, the Leader of the Qadiani Community, stated that he had sent an invitation of Mubahala to the father, grandfather and brother of Mirza Tahir Ahmad but they did not come out to contest him. Hell was their abode. Mirza Tahir Ahmad is a liar as were his father, brother and grandfather”. (Daily Imroze June 21, 1988)

He made a similar statement in the Daily Nawa-i-Waqt Lahore dated October 16, 1988.

These were indeed wild boastful statements. Maulvi Chinioti claimed that he sent a Mubahala challenge to the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who incidentally passed away in May 1908, presumably long before the birth of Maulvi Chinioti.

We ask Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti

Question 1.

You claimed that you invited the grandfather of Mirza Tahir Ahmad to Mubahala. Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who was the grandfather of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, died in 1908. Look at your birth certificate and then tell the world how could you issue a Mubahala Challenge when you were not yet born?

Does it not prove that you lied and your lie was exposed soon after you accepted the Mubahala challenge issued by the leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community?

Maulvi Chinioti and The Disappearance of Aslam Qureshi

In the Mubahala pamphlet, the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community listed some of the accusations made by the opponents against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, its founder Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and against himself. He mentioned the true Ahmadiyya beliefs and then pronounced : “May Allah’s curse be on the liars”.

He asked the opponents to take up any of these alleged statements, which Ahmadis regard as false accusations, declare them on oath that such statements do represent Ahmadiyya beliefs and then pronounce, “Curse of Allah be upon the liars”.

Special mention was made of the accusation that Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad was involved in the abduction and assassination of a certain Pakistani mullah by the name of Aslam Qureshi, who disappeared suddenly from Sialkot, Pakistan in 1984.

After his disappearance the mullahs of Pakistan, especially those belonging to Majlis Tahaffuz-e- Khatm -e- Nubuwwat, started a vicious campaign against the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and its Head, inciting masses to violence against the community. This resulted in the death of many Ahmadis, widespread looting and arson of properties belonging to Ahmadis. Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti was in the forefront of this campaign and accused the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, of the abduction and assassination of Aslam Qureshi. He issued the following statement to the press:

“Mirza Tahir Ahmad should be included in the investigation with regard to the disappearance of Mujahid-i-Islam Maulana Aslam Qureshi. He said that we have given six names to the government of Pakistan in this regard, and Mirza Tahir Ahmad is one of them. If the accused is not found within these six, I am ready to be shot in public.” (Daily Nawa-i-Waqt Lahore February 18, 1984)

According to the Pakistan Times Lahore dated October 1, 1985 Maulana Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti stated:

“The Government ought to get Mirza Tahir back in Pakistan to face the charge of murdering Maulana Aslam Qureshi.”

It so happened that five years after his disappearance Maulana Aslam Qureshi was apprehended by the Pakistan Police on the Pakistan-Iran border attempting to enter Pakistan. He made a statement to the police and the press which appeared in most of the Pakistani newspapers on July 13, 1988 that he had gone to Iran of his own accord because of his poor financial condition, that no one had abducted him and that he had been there for the last five years.

Had Maulana Manzoor Chinioti been a man of honour he would have shot himself in public, in accordance with his promise. If he had an iota of human decency he would have offered a public apology to Ahmadis and their leader, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad. He was absolutely dumbfounded, even today cannot wipe away the stigma of his shameless lie.

Even during a session of the Punjab Provincial Assembly, when asked by a member of the Assembly to account for this false accusation which he made against the Ahmadiyya Community and its leader the wicked Maulvi offered no response. God had made him speechless in his disgrace.

We ask Maulana Manzoor Chinioti

Question 2.

Was it not a lie when you said that Mirza Tahir Ahmad had abducted and assassinated Mr. Aslam Qureshi?

Question 3.

Did you not say in public:

“We have given six names to the Government including the name of Mirza Tahir Ahmad and if the culprit is not found within those six, I am ready to be shot in public?” Wasn’t it a lie?

If you were a person of respect and dignity, you would have died of shame and would have requested the Government to shoot you in public. Why didn’t you make such a request in order to keep your word?

MAULVI MANZOOR CHINIOTI – MORE LIES EXPOSED

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti is such that he will do anything and say anything in order to gain cheap popularity amongst the ignorant masses. He made another reply to the Mubahala Challenge of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad and issued the following statement to the press:

“I accept the Mubahala Challenge (of the Head of the Ahmadiyya Community) and predict that I would be alive a year from today i.e. 15th September 1989, but the Qadiani community would disappear from the face of the earth. (Daily Jang Lahore, October 17, 1988)

In reply to his boasts the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community replied:

“We will see, by next September, God willing, Ahmadiyyat will not only be alive but will be prospering in every way, and if Maulvi Chinioti happens to be alive, he will not find a single country where Ahmadiyyat has vanished”. (Friday Sermon November 15, 1988)

Realising his folly Maulvi Chinioti retracted from his original claim and gave the following statement to the press:

“I did not say that the whole of the Qadiani Community will die by the fifteenth September 1989. What I did say was that Mirza Tahir Ahmad would die by that date.” (Daily Jang Lahore January 30, 1989)

We ask Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti the following questions:

Question 4.

Did you not say that the Qadiani Community would disappear from the face of the earth by September 15, 1989? Wasn’t it a lie?

Question 5.

When newspaper reporters began chasing you for confirmation in January 1989, (four months after the original statement), you realised your mistake and refuted your claim and explained that you predicted the death of Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad only and not the death of the whole community.

Were you not proven wrong again as the world is witness to the fact that he, by the grace of Allah, is alive and well and continues to perform his duties as the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and under his command Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is progressing by leaps and bounds in every corner of the world?

Question 6.

When you failed to obtain cheap popularity in the Pakistani press, you issued the following statement to a newspaper in London:

“The sun has set on the Ahmadiyya Community as it had indeed set on the British Empire. Ahmadiyyat has been wiped off from each country of the world. Indeed it is on its last throes.” (Daily Millat, London August 19, 1989)

They say that a liar has no legs to stand upon. To cover one lie he tells another lie.

Maulvi Chinioti ! The same thing happened to you. In October 1988 you said that the Qadiani Community would disappear from the face of the earth.

On January 30, 1989 you stated that Mirza Tahir Ahmad and not the Qadiani Community would die before September 1989.

And nearing the date when your lies were to be exposed to the world, you issued a statement in total desperation that Ahmadiyyat has vanished from each country of the world.

When the whole world is a witness to the fact that hundreds of thousand people of different races and nationalities are joining the fold of Islam each year through Ahmadiyyat, how can you issue such a statement that Ahmadiyyat has vanished from every country of the world?

Can you point out a single country from where it has vanished ?

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti and Bahawalpur Plane Crash Incident

The most prominent person addressed in this Mubahala challenge was General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, the then President of Pakistan. Repeated warnings were issued by the Head of the world wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad to General Zia that he should abstain from atrocities committed against the peaceful Ahmadiyya Muslim Community but to no avail. General Zia was flying high in his political career and would not heed any such advice. Finally the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community addressed him in his Friday Sermon dated July 30, 1988 & August 5,1988. He said that whether or not General Zia formally accepts the Mubahala challenge, he is a party to it unless he desists from persecuting Ahmadis in Pakistan.

On Friday the August 12, 1988, in his Sermon, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad addressed General Zia once again . He announced that as General Zia’s Government had not relented in their wave of persecution and had transgressed to the extremes, his fate was now sealed.

Within the next week on August 17, 1988, the court of God Almighty handed down its sentence. General Zia’s plane had just taken off from Bahawalpur airport when it plummeted into nearby fields, burst into flames, killing everyone on board including high ranking military officers and the American Ambassador Arnold Raphel. Eye witnesses described that the plane was blown into pieces and there were bodies and limbs spread over an area of two acres.

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti was quick to blame the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and its leader Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad. It was reported in the press:

“Qadiani military officers brought down General Zia’s plane in order to claim success in the Mubahala challenge ———- claims Maulana Manzoor Chinioti.

A distinguished religious scholar as well as a leader of Jamiat-ul-ulama Darkhaasti Group, Maulana Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti said that the Qadianis were responsible for bringing down General Zia’s aircraft in order to claim success in their Mubahala challenge. According to a report published in the Daily Imroze of The Press Trust, Maulana Manzoor Chinioti said that the leader of the Ahmadiyya Community, had mentioned the name of General Zia, while issuing the Mubahala challenge from the Ahmadiyya mosque in London.

Maulvi Chinioti claimed that in order to make the challenge a success, the Qadiani Officers, serving in the army and in other Government Departments, conspired against General Zia and killed him along with his colleagues.

Maulana Manzoor Chinioti appealed to Ghulam Ishaq Khan, the then President of Pakistan, to extend the investigation of this tragedy to include Qadiani officers in the army as well as in Government departments so that the real happenings are brought to light.” (Daily Millat, London September 1, 1988)

And in another paper the following account was published:

“QADIANI JAMAAT IS INVOLVED IN BAHAWALPUR INCIDENT ——— Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti”.

“A leader of the International Khatm-e-Nubuwwat, Maulana Manzoor Ahmad Chinioti, in a letter to Ghulam Ishaq the President of Pakistan, demanded that the Qadiani Organisation should also be included in the investigation of the Bahawalpur incident case, as a possible suspect.

Giving out the details of his letter which he wrote to the President of Pakistan, in a press conference, he said, `In my opinion there are many solid proofs that Qadiani sect was involved in this tragic incident. These solid proofs make the majority of the members of this sect as suspects’. He said, `In this connection I would draw your attention to the so-called Mubahala challenge issued by Mirza Tahir Ahmad on June 10, 1988 in which Mirza Tahir made a so-called prophecy that the chief of those who reject Qadianiyyat and those leaders who oppose it, will meet their terrible end. This has to be noted that Zia-ul- Haq was condemned by name in this meeting’.” (Daily Jasarat Karachi September 10, 1988)

Various inquiry committees were set up by the government of Pakistan and the government of USA. None of them pointed its finger to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community or its Head. The inquiry committee working under the chairmanship of Justice Shafi-ur-Rahman, in its report, said that there is no proof of Qadianis involvement in Zia-ul-Haq’s plane disaster. (Daily Pakistan dated August 13, 1995.)

The latest US report says:

“ZIA Plane Crashed due to Technical Fault: US Report:

London: The Research Cell of the US Air force in its report, has concluded that the catastrophic crash of C-130 in 1988, killing President General Zia-ul-Haq, US Ambassador Raphel and about 30 other senior army officers, was the result of some technical fault and no evidence of any sabotage has been found. All the engines of the ill-fated aircraft stopped running suddenly and the black box failed to record the reason, the report said.” (Daily News International London July 9, 1997)

In the light of these findings, we ask Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti:

Question 7.

Were you not wrong to accuse Ahmadi military officers for bringing down Zia’s plane?

Question 8.

The Inquiry Committee working under Justice Shafi-ur-Rehman specifically stated that the Ahmadiyya Community was not involved in the plane disaster. Were you not ashamed of your false accusation?

Why did you not produce `solid proofs’ of the involvement of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which you claimed that you have in your statement published in the Daily Jasarat on September 10, 1988, before the inquiry committee?

Question 9.

The U.S report about the incident ruled out any sabotage. How can you still maintain that the Ahmadiyya Community and its leader were responsible for the plane crash?

MAULVI MANZOOR CHINIOTI AND THE PUNJAB ASSEMBLY

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti [at the time of this writing] is a member of the Punjab Assembly. He regards his election as a member of the Assembly as a success in the Mubahala challenge.

He states,

“Inspite of Qadiani efforts (to defeat me) I was successful twice with large majority (in the Punjab elections)”. (Daily Jang Lahore September 17, 1989)

And in an other newspaper he made the following statement. “Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti said that within a year (after the Mubahala challenge), God has blessed me and I was successful in the elections with heavy majority. (Daily Nawa-l-Waqt September 17, 1989)

And in a newspaper which is published from London he stated:

“In spite of the imprecation of the leader of the Ahmadiyya Community, I had gained respect and honour as I was elected a member of the Assembly. (Daily Millat London August 25, 1989 )

Now let us see what his close friends within the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Organisation and other members of the Punjab Assembly say about his election campaign and his conduct in the Assembly.

According to Daily Hayder Rawalpindi of November 1, 1988 the Khateeb of Ahrar Mosque, Maulana Allah Yaar Arshad and Qari Muhammad Yameen Gohar, a candidate for Provincial Assembly, while addressing an election meeting in Chiniot said that Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti obtained votes from the people in the name of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat and has then shown such a despicable behaviour in the Assembly that has put the whole of Muslim Ummah to shame. They said that this person deceives people in the name of religion.

Allama Mohsin Naqvi demanded that because of the misconduct in the Punjab Assembly Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti’s name should be struck off from the membership of the Assembly. (Daily Musawaat December 23, 1988)

The Chief Administrator Majlis Dawat-e-Islamiyyah Punjab accused Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti of playing a negative role in the Assembly and has thus put the residents of Chiniot city shame. (Daily Imroze June 13, 1985)

We ask Maulvi Manzoor Chinioth

Question 10.

In the light of the above remarks do you still regard the success in the Assembly elections as a blessing from Allah ?

Is it not the fact that people charged you with such gross misconduct in the Assembly that has put the entire Ummah to shame?

Question 11.

In a press conference conducted by you on May 27, 1986 you accused the Speaker of the Punjab Provincial assembly, Mr. Manzoor Wattoo as pro-Qadiani. The whole house, in its session on May 28, 1986, protested and demanded an apology from you which you did offer.

Were you not deeply embarrassed and utterly ashamed by your lies in the Assembly?

Question 12.

In the same press conference you stated that the Speaker of the Assembly treats the members of the Assembly badly. The whole House, in its session on May 28 1986, protested strongly at your accusation. The members called you a liar and not only demanded an apology but suggested some sort of punishment for you. In reply you offered an apology. Were you not humiliated before the whole House?

Question 13.

In one of the sessions you were declared as an edict seller and a black mailer, a mullah who declares some person ` Non Muslim’, acquires money and then declares the same person as ` Muslim’. No other member of the Assembly was humiliated. as you were. Were you not ashamed by such an insult?

Question 14.

Some Assembly members, because of your improper conduct in the House, commented that your marriage had become void and your children will therefore become illegitimate. Was it not another example of your insult in the House?

Question 15.

Maulana Ghias-ud-din, a member of the Punjab Assembly quoted a Saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, that a person who declare a Muslim `a Kafir’, he himself becomes a ‘Kafir’. Since you committed that act, you were adjudged a ‘Kafir’.? Do you not regard it as an insult?

Question 16.

Because of your non-parliamentary behaviour and vulgar and abusive language many of the members of the House demanded that you should be punished and expelled from the House. In return you offered an apology to the whole House. Does it not prove that you were regarded as a nuisance by the other Assembly members?

Question 17.

In February 1989 during the Punjab Assembly proceedings, a member of the Assembly, Mr. Salman Taseer, described you in the same category as the enemy of Islam, Salman Rushdie. Were you not deeply insulted by this remark?

Question 18.

Another member of the Punjab Assembly Mr Muhammad Aslam Gurdaspuri said that by presenting the motion before the House, your only purpose was to create mischief, an act which is prohibited by the Holy Quran. He labelled you as a mischief monger. Do these remarks not bother you at all? Are not these remarks disgraceful?

Question 19.

Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti! You are notorious for making outrageous, rude and vulgar remarks in the Assembly especially against female members of the House. For example, on December 20, 1988, the Opposition staged a walk- out and forced you to apologise three times for making indecent, immoral and vulgar remarks about the Pakistan Peoples Party’s Chairperson Begum Nusrat Bhutto. Is it not a shameful act for someone such as yourself who claim to be a religious leader to behave in a way that lowers the dignity of the House?

Question 20.

According to the Daily Jang Lahore dated May 29, 1986 you said in a Punjab Assembly Session “Allah’s curse be upon the liars”.

And in the Daily Jang of December 20, 1988 you quoted a Saying of the Holy Prophet of Islam, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, “Whoever tells a lie deliberately , his. abode is hell.” Again in the Daily Jang Lahore of December 21, 1988 you stated,” I pray to God that God’s curse falls on him who lies”.

We have proved above beyond any reasonable doubt whatsoever that you are a persistent liar or `Kazzab’. Will you still not admit that Allah’s curse has fallen on you And you are a victim of the Mubahala?

The fact is that after accepting the Mubahala challenge issued by the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to all leaders of the opponents, who incite hostility against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with totally false and fabricated allegations, Maulvi Manzoor Chinioti, like others, witnessed the tremendous progress of Ahmadiyyat and Allah’s numerous blessings on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, on one hand and experienced the frustration of his own plans, the utter humiliation and disgrace among the people, on the other. In our view, not only Allah’s wrath befell upon him on each occasion, but also the curse of the people which faced him at every step.

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

أُوْلَـئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اللّهِ وَالْمَلآئِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ

May God save the Ummah from the wickedness and abomination of such evil minded maulvis.

Ameen!
